Making it FUN "Use their interests" is something we have probably all heard. It is fairly obvious that we can use toys they like as rewards, and books on favorite subjects for reading practice. Integrating their interests into every part of the curriculum is possible, too. But, you can also do simple easy things! When my son was into plumbing, I would draw a simple pipe around the edge of the page. As each problem was answered, I drew more water in the pipe. When complete and correct, he got to take the marker and make the water gush out the pipe and splatter around the page! We could do it differently each time - change to brown sewage, green alien slime, purple pollution or add stick figures to get wet. Just use your imagination and theirs, too! Use dino prints and then a dino stamp to color at the end. Draw a line of stars and let them move a little spaceship along the star path. Have fun!

Just Arrived!
The new items just added include:......Okay- we have been busy at conferences this month and haven't added much!
However, we keep getting new stuff in. We will also be adding DVDs, CDs, and new Usborne books.
We also spent some time designing our own T-shirt! See it in the picture. Let me know if you want one for $10 (cost price). They were made for me and my family when we show at conferences, but they would also work as autism awareness shirts...and FUN awareness!
And, we just received the light-spinner kaleidoscopes that have been on order for months. They are really cool with light-pattern spinners inside that whirl by a speed control dial. Whew! We are still waiting on the revised space magnetic puzzle and other new fall items. |

I wanted to let people in Missouri know that they can purchase Autism car license tags by going to the ethan and friends site to get the details. It costs $20 for a donation and $15 to the tag dept.
